“My Earnings Exceed Those of 90% of Childhood Idols”

I Have More Money Than 90 Percent Of People I Looked Up To – Burna Boy

Burna Boy: How My Life Has Come Full Circle

In a recent Instagram post, the talented Afrobeat musician, Burna Boy, looked back on his journey, declaring that he is now wealthier than many people he previously admired. He used the opportunity to caution his followers against underestimating those who are younger than them.

Burna Boy reflected on his humble beginnings, when he perceived that only oil magnates and politicians were the ones who truly had the financial means. Music, he recalled, was not even considered in the same league as a lucrative career, let alone compared to the prospects of making a fortune.

However, the singer now boasts that, contrary to those early perceptions, an “ugly black musician from Port Harcourt” (himself) has a net worth greater than 90% of the individuals he once revered as financial powerhouses.

Burna Boy’s message to his followers is that success should not be defined by one’s age or background. He advised them not to underestimate those who may appear younger or less experienced, as they may indeed become the next big thing, like the likes of Elon Musk.

The musician also shed light on his generosity, revealing that he has the means to donate millions of dollars, but chooses not to. The ‘Dangote Still Dey Find Money’ crooner – the title of one of his hit tracks – boasted that he owns more possessions than he needs. He could, if he wanted to, give away millions, but, unfortunately, he just doesn’t like Nigerians.

In a tongue-in-cheek statement, he wrote, “I don’t even need most of the things I have. I could give out millions of dollars right now, but I don’t like y’all.”
