Nollywood Actress Wofai Fada Ties the Knot with Partner Taiwo Cole
Ahead of the traditional wedding, Wofai Fada, a Nollywood actress and media personality, has sealed her union with partner Taiwo Cole in a civil ceremony at the Ikoyi Registry. This comes on the heels of a controversy surrounding their traditional wedding in Calabar, Cross River.
The storm surrounding their union gained momentum when Taiwo’s family released a statement disputing Wofai’s claims of a legitimate marriage. The Cole family distanced themselves from the union, labeling it an unauthorized and unsupported event.
The statement read, “We, the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not aware of any marriage ceremony involving our son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole, nor did we grant permission or support in this regard. Any individuals claiming to be new members of the Cole family through this supposed event are unknown and not recognized by the family. Parameters and documents circulating about this should be ignored.”
Undeterred, Wofai, however, took to her Instagram page to share photos from their registry ceremony. She wrote, “Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. Legally hitched. @taiwo.cole.7 #TWOforever #MrsCole #2of3 and forever to go.”
In a separate development, film industry stalwart Ngozi Nwosu has spoken out about her plans for her community service in Abia State. The 61-year-old actress, who has been engaged in philanthropic work for many years, has decided that she will no longer provide free services to Abia State, citing a lack of support during a challenging period in her life.
In a recent interview with Nollywood on Radio, Nwosu recounted how the Abia state government neglected her during a serious health crisis in 2012, leading to her decision. According to her, she will only offer her services in the future if she receives adequate compensation from the state.
