North Would Gain By Endorsing Tinubu in 2027, Says Kwankwaso

Why It Is Better For The North To Back Tinubu In 2027 – Kwankwaso

A Key APC Chieftain’s Call to Unity: Rally Behind Tinubu’s Re-Election Bid in 2027

Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, is urging northern leaders and politicians to come together in support of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. According to a recent report by Naijawebinfo, Kwankwaso believes that securing the presidency for the North in 2031 would have strategic benefits for the region.

Kwankwaso stressed that endorsing Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima would guarantee a smoother transition of power back to the North after the president’s second term. The timing, he argued, is crucial to ensure the region’s long-term interests. He also expressed concern about the negative impact of divisive campaigns and criticisms leveled against President Tinubu by certain factions within the North, which he believes would ultimately undermine the region’s aspirations.

“The voices calling for alternative candidates from the South need not be heeded by patriotic northern politicians,” Kwankwaso cautioned. “If another candidate wins in 2027, the North may face an extended eight-year wait for power to return.” He dismissed claims that the current security challenges should dissuade support for Tinubu, highlighting the president’s ongoing efforts to address armed banditry and instability, particularly in the North.

Kwankwaso commended the progress made by Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, in countering banditry in the North and Northwest. He called for unity, urging northern politicians to lend their support to Tinubu’s administration.

Regarding rumors surrounding former Kano Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as a potential vice-presidential candidate with a Southern politician, Kwankwaso warned against such moves, citing the delay this would cause in power returning to the North, potentially as late as 2035. In conclusion, he emphasized the importance of uniting behind Tinubu, stating, “The greatest assistance we can offer President Tinubu is to rally around him with our prayers and efforts to achieve peace in the country.”
