Finance Minister Wale Edun recently met with Oando Group President Wale Tinubu and Afreximbank President Prof. Benedict Oramah in Washington, D.C. during the World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings. The discussion centered on securing funding for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly those aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s energy and trade sectors.
Edun emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth through strategic partnerships and commended Afreximbank for its support, particularly the $3 billion crude oil repayment facility provided to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, which has significantly contributed to stabilizing the economy and driving fiscal reforms.
He also expressed the Nigerian government’s readiness to collaborate with Afreximbank for additional support in key areas such as energy, infrastructure, and trade.
