Nigerian Pastor Responds to Nollywood Star’s Public Apology for Defamatory Allegations

In a recent development, controversial Nigerian pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, has reacted to a public apology issued by Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, regarding allegations made against him. The actress had previously accused Suleiman of being a womanizer, among other derogatory claims.

In a letter shared on her Instagram page, Abubakar apologized to Suleiman for her actions, which had caused him harm and distress. According to reports, this apology comes six months after a Federal Capital Territory High Court ruled that Abubakar must pay Suleiman a sum of N10 million in damages for publishing defamatory comments against him.

Abubakar’s apology is a significant turn of events, as she had initially made the allegations in a series of posts on her social media page. In her letter, she acknowledged the harm and pain caused by her false statements, expressing regret for her actions and the damage they may have inflicted on Suleiman’s family and the leadership of the Omega Fire Ministry.

However, in a subsequent post, Suleiman responded to Abubakar’s apology, emphasizing that forgiveness does not mean forgetting the past. He reiterated that he would maintain the court’s judgment, stating on social media, “You all stop calling my phone.. Forgiveness is not memory loss!.. Status quo maintained!… AJS.”
