Disturbing Video Emerges of Nigerians Extracting Fuel from a Fallen Tanker in Cross River State

A recent incident in Akamkpa, Cross River State, has left many shocked after a group of locals were caught on camera scooping fuel from a fallen tanker, despite the obvious risks involved.

As seen in the footage, some of those involved in the practice even scolded a bystander, who was documenting the situation with their phone, warning them of the potential consequences of their actions.

This incident comes on the heels of a tragic event that occurred just days prior in Jigawa State, in which nearly 200 people lost their lives and many more were injured in a tanker explosion that occurred as residents were attempting to extract fuel from a fallen tanker.

A recent report by Naijawebinfo indicates that Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi disclosed that 181 lives were lost and 210 families affected in the tanker explosion that occurred in the state. He made this announcement while briefing President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.

The governor shared the details of the incident, including that a tanker carrying petrol had exploded in Majiya town along the Kano-Hadejia expressway in Taura LGA of Jigawa state. He also reported that 80 people were hospitalized as a result of the accident and that the state government has covered the medical expenses of those affected.
