Surprising Revelation: Deputy Comptroller Shares Details of Bobrisky’s Time in Kirikiri Prison
A high-ranking official of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) has made a shocking revelation about the imprisonment of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. Deputy Comptroller Emby Anukwara shared this information during a session with the House of Representatives’ investigative committee, which visited Kirikiri Prison to examine the circumstances surrounding Bobrisky’s detention.
According to Deputy Comptroller Anukwara, the decision to place Bobrisky in a “privilege cell” was made after conducting medical examinations that confirmed he had both male and female sex organs. This special accommodation was deemed necessary due to his unique biological make-up.
This surprising revelation came as a response to inquiries raised by a Lagos Court, which had sentenced Bobrisky to six months imprisonment for an infraction known as naira mutilation.
The legitimacy of Bobrisky’s imprisonment had been questioned following a leaked audio clip shared by social media influencer, Martins Ortse, otherwise known as VeryDarkMan. In the recordings, Bobrisky claimed to have served his sentence in a lodge, citing the influence of a “godfather.” However, an investigations panel found no evidence to support his claim that he spent any part of his sentence outside the prison facilities.
Deputy Comptroller Emby Anukwara, who was in charge of the Medium ward when Bobrisky was brought in, provided details of his stay at the prison. “I am Emby Anukwara, Deputy Comptroller of Corrections and Officer-in-Charge of the Medium ward when Bobrisky was brought in here,” he explained. “On April 12, 2024, at around 10:30 pm, Bobrisky was brought in, and at that time, we were unable to complete the necessary documentation.” He added, “Given his history, we took a proactive approach and directed that he be placed in a single cell in the privilege ward – the privilege cell.” Bobrisky was housed in P-ward room 2, and the next day, he was taken to medical exams where doctors and matrons confirmed his unique biological makeup, consisting of both male and female organs.
