In a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates and party leaders in Abeokuta, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun urged his party’s candidates to work together towards a resounding victory in the upcoming local government elections.

The governor highlighted the party’s achievements, including strides in democratizing governance and enhancing infrastructure, emphasizing that these successes have positioned the APC for success across all 20 local governments.

The governor also stressed the importance of perfect harmony in each local government, stating that the selection process for the candidates was thorough and meticulous. “No one has emerged by accident,” he said, assuring that he would not compromise by placing the local government in the hands of an accidental council chairman.”

To strengthen their connection with voters, Abiodun urged the candidates to align their campaigns with the administration’s “ISEYA” mantra, promoting a unified message across different regions.

The governor also announced upcoming projects, including the groundbreaking of a deep-sea port, a naval base, and a dockyard in Ogun Waterside Local Government, as well as successes such as constructing over 700 kilometers of roads, more than 4,000 housing units, rehabilitating 120 primary health care centers, and upgrading 1,000 classrooms across the state.

He also addressed economic challenges, assuring that President Bola Tinubu’s policies would eventually benefit all, and mentioned measures like discounted rice sales for civil servants and pensioners aimed at easing current hardships.
