Lil Durk Arrested on Murder-for-Hire Charges in Florida
Rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, was taken into custody in Florida on Thursday evening, faced with murder-for-hire charges. He is currently being held without bail at Broward County Jail and is expected to be transferred to the U.S. Marshal’s custody.
This development follows the earlier arrest of five other suspects, each facing charges of murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. The charges are linked to the 2022 fatal shooting of Saviay’a Robinson, cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in Los Angeles. Prosecutors believe this incident is tied to ongoing gang-related disputes.
According to federal prosecutors, the other suspects allegedly sought revenge against Rondo for his suspected involvement in the 2020 murder of Chicago rapper King Von in Atlanta. Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston are the five individuals accused of being involved in this plot.
The indictment suggests that a well-coordinated plan was in place, with affiliates of the OTF (Only the Family) record label using a credit card linked to the label to purchase plane tickets, allowing them to travel from Chicago to California after discovering Rondo’s location. Only, instead of targeting Rondo, they allegedly killed his cousin Lul Pab.
DJ Akademiks was one of the first to break the news on social media, sharing Lil Durk’s mugshot and announcing his arrest, citing his “Federal Charge” of murder-for-hire in connection with the death of Lul Pab.
