Rapper 50 Cent Reveals He Declined $3 Million Offer to Perform at Trump Rally
Last week, a well-known American rapper, 50 Cent, stirred up a mix of controversy and curiosity when he shared that he had turned down a substantial offer to perform at a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump.
The incident drew attention amid the highly anticipated U.S. presidential election, set for November 5, with Trump running for a second term against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
During an exclusive interview on The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent described receiving a mysterious phone call about the offer and another proposal to perform his hit song “Many Men, Wish Death” at the Republican National Convention this year, both for a reported $3 million sum.
However, 50 Cent unequivocally rejected both opportunities, attributing his decision to his discomfort with politics, which he views as profoundly divisive.
“I got a call, and they offered me three million dollars for Sunday,” he explained. “I didn’t even bother talking about it. I’m afraid of politics. I don’t like politics because when you get involved, someone inevitably disagrees with you.”
As the election draws near, with just a week left until the U.S. presidential election, polls indicate a close and intense race between Trump and Harris.
According to current polls, Trump enjoys a lead in key battleground states, while Harris maintains a narrow national lead.
A recent poll tracker by FiveThirtyEight shows Harris slightly ahead with a 1.4 percentage point lead, a slight decline from her 1.7-point advantage in the previous week.
Despite this national edge, Trump’s strong performances in swing states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia are expected to keep the race extremely competitive.
Both candidates are significantly investing in these pivotal states, with North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada being hotly contested battlegrounds.
In a rally in Michigan, Harris urged supporters to “turn the page on fear and divisiveness” and focus on unity and change.
