Nigeria’s Under-20 football team, the Flying Eagles, have reaffirmed their status as one of the continent’s top young talents, securing a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Ghana on Wednesday at the Stade de Kegue in Lome, Togo.
A dominant first half saw Nigeria’s Kparobo Arierhi score two impressive goals, with the first coming in the 35th minute. A well-planned attack led to the goal, with Arierhi finishing off a well-coordinated effort. He doubled the lead just before halftime.
Despite Ghana’s second-half attempt to mount a comeback, Nigeria successfully held on to secure the win.
This win follows up their 3-1 semifinal victory over Niger Republic, which secured their spot in the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
