In a move that has sparked controversy, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a self-proclaimed crossdresser, has been detained in a female cell at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State.
A source close to the police facility, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that Okuneye was held in the female cell owing to his controversial lifestyle and the fact that there were no female detainees present at the time of his detention.
Premiered at the FCID, Alagbon, around 10 pm on Monday, Okuneye was arrested by Immigration officials at the Seme Border and taken to the facility for safekeeping.
In a conversation with Punch, Mayegun Aminat, the spokesperson for the FCID, Lagos, confirmed Okuneye’s detention, stating, “He is currently with us, and we are awaiting further directives to keep him in custody today.”
Naijawebinfo has learned that further instructions are being awaited regarding Okuneye’s case as he was taken to the FCID for safekeeping following his arrest by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service during his attempt to exit the country through the Seme border.
According to a source, Okuneye’s attempt to exit the country through the Seme border indicates that he knew security agencies were after him.
“He may be trying to escape from the country, but it’s also possible that he’s on the blacklist, and for him to opt for the Seme border, it may suggest that he’s aware that they’re looking for him,” the source said.
