Nigeria’s Super Falcons Coach Seeks Strong Display Against Algeria

Super Falcons Of Nigeria Coach Expects Good Outing Against Algeria

Nigeria’s Super Falcons Look to Revive Their fortunes in Upcoming Algeria Friendly

The wait is almost over for the Super Falcons as they prepare to face Algeria in a vital international friendly match, which promises to bring much-needed revival and renewed confidence to the team.

Slated to take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne later today, this tie marks the return of the Super Falcons to competitive football on home soil, a scenario last witnessed during the 2021 Aisha Buhari Women’s Tournament.

Since the disappointing Olympic Games campaign, where they suffered losses to Brazil, Spain, and Japan, Coach Justin Madugu has been working tirelessly to revitalize the team’s spirit and restore their competitiveness. “We’ve been putting in a lot of hard work since our Resumption on Monday, and I’m impressed with the players’ discipline and commitment to our objectives,” he noted.

Madugu emphasized the need for the team to show respect to their opponents and acknowledged that they must rebound from their recent subpar results. “We respect the Algerians just as we respect every team, but we recognize that we must rebuild our confidence and rekindle the positive energy within the squad,” he stressed.

To achieve this, Madugu plans to deploy a 4-4-2 formation, featuring a mix of home-based players, including team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and defenders Chidinma Okeke and Oluwatosin Demehin. International players Esther Onyenezide, who plays for Hapoel Katamon, and striker Gift Monday, representing UDG Tenerife, will also be part of the squad.
