I Never Listen Or Take Corrections From People – Nkechi Blessing Speaks On Reason For Apologizing Late To TAMPAN

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing shares the story behind her three-year apology to TAMPAN leaders

Lately, Nkechi Blessing, a renowned actress, has made headlines by apologizing to the leaders of the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) after a three-year suspension. She gave a heartfelt apology during a ceremony at the Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Canada.

Speaking on her decision to wait three years before making amends, Nkechi revealed that she has been working on herself, undergoing a significant transformation. She has chosen to re-engage with the industry, having previously had a tendency to ignore others’ opinions and be unapologetic about it.

In a social media post, she shared, “In the past, I was the kind of person who wouldn’t listen to anyone, who refused to take constructive criticism.” She emphasized that she is now committed to changing this about herself and reconnecting with the industry that made her who she is.

Nkechi’s apology comes after she was suspended from TAMPAN for behavior deemed disrespectful, rude, and abusive towards industry leaders. Her latest statement shows she is conscious of her past mistakes and willing to make amends.

In her post, she penned, “When we desire change, we must sometimes take the time to reflect on our actions and their consequences. I’m grateful for the guidance received and the opportunity to grow. I’m now extending an unreserved apology to the entire TAMPAN community, including the Board of Trustees, National Central Working Committee, National Executive Councils, state and local chapters, and all stakeholders in Nigeria and abroad.”

She concluded the post with a heartfelt expression of gratitude and a plea for forgiveness from the TAMPAN community.
