Ondo SDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Joins APC

Newly-minted APC Member: Former SDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Joins Ranks

In a move that’s sent ripples through the political landscape, Mrs. Susan Gbemisola Alabi, the recently resigned deputy governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, has made the bold decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Apparently, this sudden turn of events coincides with the end of her tenure as SDP’s deputy governorship candidate due to intractable differences with the party’s governorship candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.

A warm welcome awaited Mrs. Alabi as she joined the APC, with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the party’s governorship candidate, extending a hand of friendship during his campaign tour of Akoko North West Local Government Area. Aiyedatiwa, accompanied by Mrs. Alabi, was received with enthusiasm by the community, with local leaders and citizens drawn to his promises of a brighter future.

Speaking on his vision for Ondo State, Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of crafting a budget that caters to every region. “Every corner of our great state will reap the benefits of development initiatives,” he declared, highlighting planned upgrades to infrastructure and services in Akoko North West.

Gratitude was expressed towards local monarchs, who had pledged support during the APC primaries and the upcoming elections, with the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, representing 27 traditional rulers, volunteering their unwavering backing.

Aiyedatiwa took the stage to urge party supporters to remain united and actively participate in securing a resounding victory for the APC. He demonstrated his commitment to this goal by organizing campaign stops in major areas of the local government, allowing him to directly gauge community concerns and needs.

Aiyedatiwa also visited Oke Agbe, the local government headquarters, where he reiterated his administration’s focus on key areas such as security, infrastructure, and agriculture, assuring residents that their concerns would be reflected in future planning. The event culminated in an atmosphere of jubilation and hope for a brighter future under the APC leadership.
