In a daring operation, the Imo State Police Command’s Counter-Terrorism Unit apprehensively responded to an attack by suspected IPOB/ESN terrorists on Tuesday, successfully countering the threat and seizing crucial evidence.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, a routine patrol along the Owerri/Aba Road near Owerri Airport turned into a high-stakes battle when a group of 10 suspects, traveling in two vehicles, launched a surprise assault. The swift response from the operatives resulted in the neutralization of one suspect, while others fled, leaving behind a Mercedes Jeep with Lagos State registration number AAA 101 GR.
The statement read: “On October 29, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM, the Counter-Terrorism Unit thwarted an IPOB/ESN terrorist attack during a routine patrol on the Owerri/Aba Road, near Owerri Airport.
