Rapper Oluwadolarz Shares His Mission to Support His Family from Age 11 Onwards

“I Started Taking Care of My Family at Age 11”- Oluwadolarz Reveals

Nigerian skit maker, Oluwadolarz, recently shared his journey, shedding light on the challenges he faced during his teenage years.

As a child, Oluwadolarz lost his father at just two years old. This significant loss led him to take on adult responsibilities at an early age.

He recalled that at the tender age of 11, he became the primary provider for his family, worrying about their meals. To help support them, Oluwadolarz worked at the Dangote Cement factory in Ebute Metta after his music career encountered obstacles in 2008.

In a recent interview on the ‘WithChude’ podcast, Oluwadolarz shared his experience as a truck loader at the factory, saying, “I was loading pasta at Dangote Cement at Ebute Metta.”

He also discussed the struggles he faced growing up without a father figure, stating, “I did not enjoy my childhood. I became a man at the age of 11. At that age, I was contemplating what the family would eat.”

Oluwadolarz turned to music in 2008, but it didn’t quite take off as he had hoped. In 2020, he faced a major setback when he was accused of rape, leading to the loss of jobs, depression, and debt.

“On the rape allegation, I lost a lot of jobs. I was depressed because that was the same period I had my child. I paid a lot of debts because they wanted me to repay their money. They did not want to associate themselves with my brand,” Oluwadolarz shared.
