Good News: University of Nigeria Lecturer Escapes Kidnapping Ordeal

Naijawebinfo reports that Professor Oguejiofor Ujam, the Dean of the School of General Studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has miraculously escaped from his kidnappers.

According to reports, the professor was abducted on Sunday evening along the Opi-Nsukka-Ugwogo-Nike Road in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

However, thanks to the swift response of the police, Professor Ujam has been freed from his captors’ clutches.

Illustrating the dramatic turn of events, Enugu State Police Spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, revealed that a separate kidnap attempt was foiled on Monday evening along the Opi-Nsukka-Ugwogo-Nike Road, resulting in the culprits fleeing with gunshot wounds.

As the police continued their pursuit, they stumbled upon a surprising find – Professor Ujam, who was previously believed to be in captivity, had actually managed to escape from his abductors’ custody.

The police recovered an AK-47 rifle, two magazines containing 22 rounds, and 39 live ammunition in the wake of the gun battle, further corroborating the daring rescue.

This development comes amidst reports of another kidnapping incident involving an official from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Saturday, although Enugu State Sector Commander, Frank Agbakoba, denied the incident.

However, Enugu State Police Spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, has since clarified that “no such incident has been recorded anywhere” in the state.
