Very Dark Man Apologises to Nigerian Police Force for Wearing Uniform in Video
A recent video featuring social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man, has drawn the ire of the Nigerian Police Force. In the video, Very Dark Man can be seen wearing a police uniform, claiming to be the “Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the Online Division”.
However, the police did not take kindly to his humorous take on their uniform, launching an investigation into the matter. The backlash was swift, and Very Dark Man has since apologized for his actions.
In a recent video, he expressed his regret for wearing attire that bears a resemblance to the official police uniform, stating that he understood the potential implications and avoided intention to impersonate the police. He extended his apologies to the Nigeria Police Force, the office of the Inspector General of Police, and the public at large.
Very Dark Man used his apology video to caution the public on the importance of seeking permission from the police or other law enforcement agencies before using any items that may resemble their uniforms. He argued that while the intent may be pure, there is a risk that others might misuse it for nefarious purposes. He concluded by thanking his lawyer, Adeyanjudeji, for his support.
