Manchester United Names New Manager to Replace Erik ten Hag

Manchester United Agree To Pay Coach Ruben Amorim’s Release Clause

Ruben Amorim Expected to Take Over as Manchester United Manager Later Today

Following unsuccessful negotiations, Manchester United are poised to announce the appointment of Ruben Amorim as their new permanent manager, effective October 31. Amorim’s current club, Sporting Lisbon, have agreed to release him from his contract.

Amorim will remain at Sporting Lisbon for their next three matches, including a crucial Champions League fixture against Manchester City. He is set to take the reins at Old Trafford during the November international break, with his first match as Manchester United manager expected to be an away fixture against Ipswich Town on November 24.

The Premier League club has reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon, offering an additional one million euros in compensation to meet Amorim’s contractually agreed exit clause of 10 million euros. This development comes after the club and Amorim’s representatives successfully negotiated the terms of his release.

Manchester United’s decision to part ways with manager Erik Ten Hag followed a disappointing 2-1 loss to West Ham, leaving the team in 14th place in the Premier League standings. In response, the club accelerated their search for a new manager, with Amorim emerging as the top candidate.

As an interim measure, former Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy took over as caretaker manager. Under his guidance, the team recorded an impressive 5-2 victory against Leicester City in the League Cup, providing a much-needed boost to fans.

In his role as caretaker, Van Nistelrooy has expressed his commitment to the club, stating, “I came here as an assistant to help the club. I’m helping for as long as I’m needed and in the future, in any capacity, I’m here to help the club build towards a successful future.”
