Oparah Is Extorting Organizations – Labour Party Disowns Ex-treasurer Over Fraudulent Activities

Labour Party Disowns Former National Treasurer Over Fraud Allegations

In a recent statement, the Labour Party (LP) has officially disavowed its former National Treasurer, Oluchi Oparah, due to alleged fraudulent activities.

The statement, issued by Obiora Ifoh, the party’s publicity secretary, revealed that Oparah was initially suspended indefinitely in November 2023 for engaging in anti-party activities, and her suspension remains effective until further notice.

The LP emphasized that Oparah should refrain from claiming to be the National Women Leader, as she has never held the office and has never sought it. It is believed that Oparah’s actions are aimed at securing financial benefits from unsuspecting organizations.

The party emphasized that Oparah’s recent actions, using her supposed status as National Women Leader to solicit favors, amount to impersonation, as defined by the definition of an imposter: “a person who pretends to be someone else, usually to deceive others, especially for financial gain.”

According to reports, Oparah has been seen at various events claiming to be the National Women Leader of the Labour Party, an action that has led to fraudulently securing financial benefits from these organizations.

The Labour Party expressed regret over Oparah’s actions, deeming them an embarrassment to the party. To set the record straight, the party highlighted that the actual National Women Leader of the Labour Party is Mrs. Dudu Manuga, who is constitutionally responsible for overseeing the activities of millions of Labour Party women across Nigeria and globally.
