The Nigerian film industry is still reeling in the wake of the untimely passing of renowned actor, Charles Olumo, popularly known as Agbako. The news was shared by Bolaji Amusan, President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), on social media.
To honor his legacy, a video showcasing his remarkable career has been circulating through online platforms.
Alongside the tribute, fellow actor Jide Kosoko paid a heartfelt tribute: “Good night, Baba Charles (Agbako). You lived a fulfilling 101 years. May your legacy endure. R.I.P.”
Olumo, also known as Agbako, marked his 101st birthday earlier this year, leaving behind an impressive body of work within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
In related news, Kim Kardashian removed her son Saint West’s YouTube channel last week after he posted messages perceived to be critical of Vice President Kamala Harris. The channel, under the handle @TheGoatSaint, was taken down due to the content, which reportedly depicted Harris’s image on the sole of a cartoon character’s shoe with the phrase “I stepped in s***.”
Several viewers noticed that Saint’s posts mirrored his father, Kanye West’s, political leanings, with one user commenting, “Smart like his father” and others saying “Kanye is so proud right now” or “Kanye so proud of bro, like father like son.”
This unexpected development comes as a result of last month’s announcement that Saint would have to sign a contract to maintain his presence on the platform. It appears he may have violated the terms of this agreement mere weeks before the upcoming election.
In the midst of these developments, the Nigerian film industry remains in mourning for the loss of Agbako, a legendary figure in the world of acting.
