EFCC Reveals Reason for Re-arresting Controversial Social Media Personality, Bobrisky

That is exactly what Nigerian social media sensation, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, attempted to do recently. However, his plans were foiled by immigration officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Bobrisky, the makeup artist and cross-dresser, had been on the radar of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for some time. He had repeatedly ignored their invitations to provide evidence to support serious allegations of bribery and corruption. The latest development is that he has been re-arrested in Lagos for not cooperating with the investigation.
According to EFCC spokesperson, Mr. Dele Oyewale, Bobrisky’s troubles began when he made some rather serious claims about the commission. “He accused us of bribery and corruption, yet he repeatedly ignored our summons to substantiate these claims,” Oyewale explained. “Such serious allegations cannot be ignored. Furthermore, he declined to appear before the National Assembly on this matter. We had no option but to take him into custody to ensure he provides evidence to support his accusations.”
The EFCC has accused Bobrisky of allegedly paying N15 million to have money laundering charges dropped, a claim he has denied. However, the commission remains skeptical, and the crossdresser is now facing a new reality – a trip to Abuja to face the music.
