Nigerian Crossdresser Bobrisky Dragged Off Flight, Hospitalized After Ruckus at Lagos Airport
Just as Bobrisky, a controversial figure in Nigeria, was released from detention, he was forcibly removed from a flight bound for London. The drama unfolded at the Lagos airport, where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arrived to apprehend him once again.
Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, had taken to social media to share photographs of himself and Bobrisky at the airport, sparking widespread interest and debate among the online community.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when airport security personnel, accompanied by EFCC officials, intervened to take Bobrisky into custody. The crossdresser expressed his anguish in a heartfelt post on his Instagram page, recounting his dangerous experience and revealing that he had been injured.
As the situation unfolded, a video emerged online, capturing the tense moments as Bobrisky was forced off the flight. The footage showed him being dragged away by airport officials, sparking widespread shock and concern for his well-being.
In another development, a senior officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) dispelled rumors surrounding Bobrisky’s imprisonment. In a statement, the officer clarified that the claim that he had served his six-month sentence in a private apartment was unfounded.
Controversial activist, VeryDarkMan, had earlier shared a video in which Bobrisky allegedly revealed that he had bribed EFCC officials to drop the money laundering charge against him. The video also included a claim that a “godfather” and Haliru Nababa, the NCoS controller-general, had secured his special treatment, allowing him to serve his sentence in a private apartment instead of a prison.
A high-ranking officer from the Punch spoke out to dispel the rumors, explaining that the “VIP treatment” for certain prisoners referred to a special facility that had been in operation for years. The officer pointed out that the type of facility a prisoner is sent to depends on several factors, including their health, age, and sex.
The controversy surrounding Bobrisky’s imprisonment had sparked widespread speculation, and the drama that unfolded at the airport has left many wondering what lies ahead for this high-profile figure in Nigerian popular culture.
