EFCC Brings Back Attention to Second Bobrisky Arest

Bobrisky To Face Fresh Criminal Charges As Panel Indicts Four Prison Officers

Popular Social Media Influencer and Crossdresser, Bobrisky, Re-Arrested by EFCC in Lagos

In an Instagram post, Bobrisky shared his ordeal with his followers, claiming he was injured during a confrontation with the immigration officers. He accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of orchestrating his arrest.

His online post read, “Nigerians, please help, I’ve been arrested by the EFCC. I’m badly injured.” He also expressed that he was not at the correct place to provide any further information, and they were dealing with a severe situation.

According to reliable sources, Bobrisky’s arrest stemmed from his refusal to respond to a series of invitations from the EFCC following his allegations against them.

In a voice message disseminated by a prominent commentator, VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky allegedly stated that he had spent N15 million on EFCC officials to have money laundering charges against him dropped.

However, the EFCC has rubbished these claims, launching an investigation into the allegations and setting up a committee to handle the matter.

During a press conference, the Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwajaren, warned that Bobrisky might face further charges from the commission if his allegations against the EFCC were proven to be false.

Uwajaren emphasized that individuals could be prosecuted for providing misleading information to the EFCC, especially for making baseless accusations against the commission.

A senior official within the commission revealed that Bobrisky’s detention was intended to verify his claims against the EFCC and provide evidence to support his allegations.

"We have arrested him in Lagos today and will take him to Abuja today. He made serious allegations against the commission, and we have evidence to counter those claims. He who alleges must be ready to prove it. We cannot allow unfounded claims to slide," the source stated.

"We have also invited him and the National Assembly, but he failed to show up. We have no choice but to take him in and have him provide evidence of his claims. That is what we have done," the source continued.

When contacted on Friday morning, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed Bobrisky’s arrest, stating, "Bobrisky is on his way to Abuja as we speak," he added.
