Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has vehemently denied claims that he exposed Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, to the authorities, leading to his re-arrest at Lagos airport.
According to reports, Bobrisky was spotted together with Isaac on a flight out of the country, prompting speculation that the latter may have had a hand in the crossdresser’s re-arrest.
In response, Isaac took to his Instagram page to share photos of himself with Bobrisky, clarifying that they were on the same flight to London.
In the caption, Isaac wrote, “Guess who’s on the same flight to London with me?” accompanied by a series of emojis. He went on to state, “@bobrisky222 is on the same flight with me.”
As Bobrisky and Isaac’s online popularity soared, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the crossdresser, leading to widespread criticism and blame directed at Isaac on social media. Many netizens accused Isaac of being responsible for Bobrisky’s arrest, claiming that he should not have shared the photos online.
Isaac, however, responded to the backlash in a video posted on his page, asserting that he was not responsible for Bobrisky’s arrest. He pointed out that the crossdresser is a public figure and many people recognized him at the airport, making it likely that he would have been identified and stopped regardless of Isaac’s actions. Isaac also called on the EFCC to release the names of the officers who had previously cleared Bobrisky of money laundering charges.
