Manchester United Appoints Highly-Acclaimed Coach Ruben Amorin to Revitalize Squad

Manchester United has made a bold move to revive their season by appointing Ruben Amorin as their new head coach. The Portuguese tactician, 39, brings an impressive résumé to Old Trafford, having led Sporting Lisbon to a title-winning campaign last year and remaining unbeaten in the league this season.

Amorin’s appointment follows a disappointing start under Erik ten Hag, who was relieved of his duties after securing only four wins across all competitions. The club has opted to part with £8.3 million to break free from Sporting’s £8.3 million release clause, securing Amorin’s services and tapping into his impressive tactical abilities.

A United delegation travelled to Lisbon on Monday to finalize negotiations, and Amorin is set to officially take charge on November 11. The club has released a statement announcing the appointment, stating that Amorin will join until June 2027, with an option to extend for an additional year once he completes his obligations at his current club.

United have described Amorin as “one of the most exciting and highly-rated young coaches in European football,” highlighting his impressive achievements as both a player and coach. As a player, Amorin won the Primeira Liga twice with Sporting CP, with the first title being the club’s first in 19 years.

In the meantime, Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to lead the team until Amorin’s arrival, paving the way for a fresh start at Old Trafford.
