Nigerian Crossdresser, Bobrisky, Arrested at Lagos Airport by EFCC
According to a recent report by Naijawebinfo, popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a flight from Lagos to Amsterdam.
Bobrisky was reportedly boarded a KLM flight, but airport security halted the departure and escorted him off the plane. He allegedly engaged in a physical struggle with the security operatives who tried to remove him from the flight.
Following the arrest, Bobrisky took to his Instagram page to share a post that revealed he was in a critical condition, stating, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC has arrested me, I’m badly injured.” The post sparked widespread concern and debate among his followers.
EFCC Gives Update on Betta Edu and Bobrisky’s Investigations
Meanwhile, the EFCC has also provided an update on the ongoing investigations into the activities of Betta Edu, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. The Commission had previously announced that Edu was being investigated over alleged misconduct, with a staggering sum of N30 billion recovered and 40 bank accounts linked to her under scrutiny.
During a press briefing in Abuja, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, represented by Wilson Uwujaren, Director of Public Affairs, confirmed that Bobrisky is also under investigation. The Commission emphasized that it will not tolerate corruption within its ranks and will take appropriate action if allegations of bribery to drop money laundering charges against Bobrisky are proven true.
According to Uwujaren, “Regarding the investigation into the allegations by Bobrisky and VeryDarkman, I am certain that the investigative process will conclude effectively. If any misconduct is confirmed, appropriate action will be taken. I have witnessed law enforcement personnel being held accountable for professional misconduct during my years of service here.” The statement hints at the Commission’s commitment to upholding integrity and accountability within its ranks.
