A Tragic Loss: 58-year-old Man found Dead in Ondo State

In a devastating turn of events, a 58-year-old man, Bamidele Omolayo, has succumbed to a tragic end, taking his own life by ingesting a chemical substance believed to be a ‘sniper’ in Ondo State’s Odigbo Local Government Area.

A somber discovery was made on Thursday morning near a farming area in Igburowo town, with the deceased’s remains reportedly found lying near a farm.

The sudden and unexpected demise of a father of four has sent shockwaves of grief throughout the community, with many residents gathering to pay their respects and mourn his passing.

An eye witness revealed that he left his home early in the morning, and a thorough search yielded no suicide note, but a bottle containing the substance was discovered next to his lifeless body.

Following an initial investigation, the police were summoned to the scene and evacuated the body, taking it to the Ondo State Specialist Hospital’s morgue.

Additionally, some family members of the deceased have since been invited for questioning to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding his tragic demise.

Confirming the incident, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, stated that an investigation has been launched to uncover the root cause of the tragedy.

‘We are aware of the report of suicide, but we have yet to gain insight into the events that led to it. The ongoing investigation will seek to unravel the truth,’ Odunlami-Omisanya emphasized.
