Senator Abbo’s Shocking Accusation: Top Judicial Officer Asked for Bribe

Top Judicial Officer Came To My Hotel Room And Demanded Bribe – Senator Abbo

Former Nigerian Senator Ishaku Abbo Laments Corruption in Judiciary

In a recent interaction with journalists in Yola, former Nigerian Senator Ishaku Abbo voiced his concerns about the widespread corruption within the judiciary system. He emphasized that the Nigerian democracy is at risk of stagnating unless the judiciary prioritizes delivering justice over injustice.

Senator Abbo, who was recently recalled from the Senate after his fight for a second term, pointed out that the alleged corruption is more prevalent in the courts than in real political practice. He claimed that his own case was a prime example of this, stating that his mandate was effectively taken from him in the courtroom by individuals he deemed “judicial bandits.”

“It’s a travesty of justice when those appointed to uphold the law succumb to bribery,” he said. “If a judge accepts payment in exchange for an unfair verdict, they will have to face their maker’s wrath on the day of judgment.”

Abbo also shared a personal experience, claiming that a top judicial officer visited his hotel room in Abuja, accompanied by his wife, demanding payment on behalf of the judges handling his case. He possesses camera records of the encounter and intends to speak with the official’s associates in Taraba State to caution them against the consequences of such actions.

The senator also bemoaned the collapse of political leadership in the north, attributing it to the selfish interests of some regional leaders. “Most northern leaders have surrendered their authority to President Bola Tinubu, seeking personal gain rather than representing the entire region’s interests,” he said.

As for his political aspirations, Abbo revealed that he is currently consulting with stakeholders and plans to announce his intentions to run for Taraba State governor in 2027, following his round of consultations.

The senator’s comments have sparked a heated debate about the state of the judiciary and the leadership in the north, and many are eagerly awaiting his full declaration of political ambitions.
