Former Oyo State Lawmaker Passes Away

Hon. Hamid Babatunde Eesuola, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has sadly left us. The politician, who represented the Atiba State Constituency on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket, breathed his last on Thursday in Ibadan, the state capital, after a brief illness.

It’s worth noting that Eesuola was on the cusp of completing his doctorate at the University of Ibadan’s Faculty of Education at the time of his passing.

In addition to his legislative achievements, Eesuola also held the position of Chairman of the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (OYCSDA).

According to sources, Engineeer Seun Adesiji, National Vice President of the Alaafin High School Alumni Association, confirmed the news of Eesuola’s death, describing him as a distinguished member of the association.

“Yes, I can confirm that Hon. Eesuola passed away this morning in Ibadan,” Adesiji revealed.

Another individual to verify the news was Hon. Mohammed Sarafadeen, a former caretaker chairman of the Surulere North Local Council Development Area. On his Facebook page, Sarafadeen paid tribute to the deceased with a heartfelt prayer.

“May Allah have mercy on his soul and grant him eternal rest,” he wrote. “May eternal rest be yours, my friend, Hon. Eesuola. RIP.”
