Abia State Governor Alex Otti and His Wife Cast Their Votes in State Elections
The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, and his wife, Priscilla Otti, joined millions of Abians to exercise their democratic rights on Saturday by casting their votes in the ongoing local government elections. They visited their polling unit, Unit 17, Ward 5, in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, around 12:45 p.m.
After casting his vote, Governor Otti expressed his satisfaction with the overall conduct of the election, describing it as smooth and peaceful across the state. Despite some minor disturbances reported in Ohafia and Obingwa Local Government Areas, which were swiftly addressed by security personnel, the Governor was optimistic that the process had generally been successful.
Governor Otti emphasized the significance of effective local governance in achieving the state’s development goals. He stressed that having credible and competent leaders at the grassroots level was crucial for the state’s overall growth and prosperity.
The Governor urged voters to prioritize the qualities of credible leadership over party affiliations when casting their ballots.
“In order to truly benefit from the democratic system and witness tangible progress, it is essential to vote for leaders who are not only committed to their political parties but also possess the capacity to deliver real results,” Governor Otti underscored.
This call for leadership at the local level aligns with the Governor’s administration’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and development throughout Abia State.
