Community Offers ₦10 Million Reward to Aid Arrest of Cultist Suspects

A somber atmosphere has descended upon the Ezinano community in Anambra State, following the tragic loss of over 20 lives in a spate of brutal attacks in Nibo and Ifite communities. In an effort to bring the perpetrators to justice, the community has pledged a substantial reward of ₦10 million to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The decision was announced by Jeff Nweke, leader of the Ezinano community in the Awka South Local Government Area, during an empowerment program at the community square in Awka. This initiative is aimed at supporting the police and security agencies in their investigation and ultimately ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

The community leader expressed his deep concern over the recent violence, stating that such acts are unprecedented in the region. He stressed the need for collective action, urging the police to work closely with the community to identify and prosecute the perpetrators, saying, “We must work together to bring an end to these dastardly acts and restore peace to our communities.”

In addition to the reward offer, Nweke also commended the community’s efforts to address the issue of moral decline among the youth. He emphasized the importance of parents taking a more proactive role in instilling positive values in their children, saying, “As leaders, we must all work together to shape the minds of our children and ensure they grow up to be positively contributing members of our society.”

The community leader also announced a separate initiative to empower underprivileged women in the region, committing ₦50 million to support their agricultural pursuits. This investment will enable the women to establish fish and poultry farms, generating income and economic growth for their families and contributing to the region’s overall development.
