Renowned Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has hinted at possibly stepping away from her current career path.
On her social media handle, DJ Cuppy expressed her desire to elevate her passion for DJing and make a more significant impact in the coming year. She stated, “DJing is my passion, but tbh this year has felt like a whole new experience, like I’m meant to level up and make a bigger impact.. Only God knows what’s next.”
Fans responded to her post, with one supporter encouraging her to return to her DJing roots, stating, “Start DJing again. I have missed your vibes on IG. I don’t like the new you at all.” DJ Cuppy’s response was, “I don’t like the old me at all.”
This revelation comes after she recently released a gospel mixtape, inspired by her baptism earlier this year, and her music has been well-received.
In related news, Nollywood actress May Edochie, the former wife of actor Yul Edochie, has revealed the reasons behind her reluctance to take movie roles, even with substantial pay. Edochie made her film debut in Omoni Oboli’s ‘Uprising’, which was released last month.
In an exclusive interview, May Edochie revealed that she has turned down numerous lucrative offers from Nollywood filmmakers, citing her ability to handle various types of work. She almost declined the offer to act in ‘Uprising’ before ultimately agreeing to be part of the film.
“I’ve received scripts, movie roles, and mouth-watering offers for the past two years, but I rejected everything,” Edochie stated. “I’m a master of all trades, and there’s a whole lot I can do if I put my mind to it.”
