Yesterday, a Shocking Loss: Onigbongbo Lcda Chairman, Oladotun Olakanle, Passes Away
Tragedy struck the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Saturday, November 2, 2024, as the Chairman, Oladotun Olakanle, passed away. The cause of his death remains a mystery at this time.
The news has sent shockwaves through the community, as Olakanle was still going about his duties on the previous day, distributing vehicles to police formations in the council area on Friday, November 1, 2024. In fact, he was also in attendance at the burial rites of the late APC chieftain, Dr Adesola Taiwo, CEO of Adefemi Taiwo Hospitals, on the day before his untimely demise.
“I’m still trying to come to terms with his passing,” said a high-ranking member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). “We were together at the party on Thursday, and it’s hard to believe he’s no longer with us.”
This is not the first time a chairman of the LCDA has met a similar fate. Olakanle’s predecessor, Babatunde Oke, also died in office while serving his second term a few years prior. The sudden loss of Olakanle’s leadership has left a void that will be difficult to fill.
