“Last Moments of a Beloved Father: Late Actor Charles Olumo’s Final Moments as Recounted by His Grieving Daughter”

Meet Motunrayo ‘Iwalewa’ Charles, the daughter of the late Nollywood actor Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, also known as Charles Olumo and Agbako. In a recent interview, Motunrayo shared her father’s final moments, putting to rest rumors that he passed away on a film set.
Agbako, who was 101 years old at the time of his passing, was buried on October 31 in accordance with Islamic custom at his residence in Atan-Ota, Ogun State.
In an emotional conversation with a publication, Motunrayo revealed that she was by her father’s side when he took his last breath. Contrary to earlier reports, Agbako did not pass away on a film set, but instead, at home, with his daughter present.
“I bathed him, brushed his teeth, gave him water, and fed him tea,” Motunrayo recalled. “He went quiet, and I realized he had passed away. I called for help, but it was too late. It was a truly traumatic experience, as I had never witnessed a death before.”
For the past four years, Motunrayo had abandoned her acting career to care for her ailing father. She has urged the government to provide support to the family, acknowledging that caring for an elderly loved one can be physically and emotionally draining. She hopes that the government will recognize the sacrifices made by caregivers like herself and provide assistance to ensure their well-being.
A touching image of Motunrayo with her late father is available below.
