**”Fake Professor” Jide Josiah Jisos Sentenced to Six Months in Prison for Impersonation During 2019 UTME**
A Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja’s Wuse Zone 2 has handed down a six-month prison sentence to Jide Josiah Jisos, who infiltrated the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by impersonating a “Professor.” Jisos was caught red-handed at the Brix Academy in Abuja, where he was disguised as a representative of a non-governmental organization (NGO) tasked with monitoring the proceedings.
According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Jisos initially introduced himself as an NGO representative, claiming to be overseeing the UTME process. However, his deception was foiled when he was confronted by the leader of the monitoring team, who requested clarification on his role. Jisos was unable to back up his claims, and his cover was blown.
Under further interrogation, Jisos confessed that he was not affiliated with any NGO and was actually in the examination hall to assist his daughter in taking the 2019 UTME. The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate Justice Folashade Oyekan, found Jisos guilty of impersonation and sentenced him to six months in prison, with the option to pay a fine of ₦100,000. The exact date of the court’s ruling is unclear.
