Nigeria’s Ola Aina Scores a Surprising Goal in Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 Victory Over West Ham United
Nigeria’s Ola Aina surprised everyone with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area in the 73rd minute, leaving no chance for the West Ham United goalkeeper to respond and mark his first Premier League goal of the season.
This impressive goal, one of three scored by Nottingham Forest in the match, marked a significant milestone for Aina, who has been a consistent presence in the squad, playing in all ten of their Premier League fixtures this season.
Aina’s teammates, Chris Wood and Callum Hudson-Odoi, also shone, each scoring a goal that contributed to the team’s 3-0 victory.
In reflecting on his goal, Aina shared his thoughts with Optus Sport, noting, “Sometimes it comes out. I like to surprise everyone; it just bounced upright. I was knackered anyway, so I thought I might as well hit it.”
Aina’s journey to Nottingham Forest began in July 2023, when he joined the team on a free transfer after his contract with Torino expired. Since then, he has played 32 matches for the Premier League side, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
