Break free from negative prayers, replace with blessings for all.

Why You Don’t Need To Pray Against Your Enemies – Adeboye

The Right Mindset for Christians: Why Praying Against Enemies Is Not the Answer

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, recently addressed a crucial issue that affects many Christians. Speaking at the church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service, he emphasized the importance of having the right mindset towards our enemies.

Adeboye’s message centered around the idea that those with great destiny are often envied, and therefore, it doesn’t make sense to pray against our enemies. He referenced Psalm 23:5, which says, “He will prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” The pastor suggested that rather than praying against our enemies, we should pray for their repentance.

“When people speak evil against you, don’t be bothered,” Adeboye advised. “You have to be great to be envied. If you pray for your enemy’s death, who will be around to celebrate you?” He reminded his audience that God is the only burden bearer who can lift and show mercy, making it possible for anyone to fly in life.

Adeboye also shared a personal experience where he was met with open arms by the president of an African country, illustrating God’s favor and provision in his life. He recalled how the president, having learned about his visit, went out of his way to meet with him, and they spent five hours discussing and sharing their experiences with each other.

Adeboye’s message serves as a reminder to reevaluate our approach to prayer, encouraging believers to shift their focus from praying against their enemies to praying for their enemies to change and for God’s favor to be upon them. By adopting this mindset, we can tap into God’s blessings and live a life of purpose and fulfillment.
