Outgoing Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki: A Call to Unity and Continued Progress
As his tenure draws to a close, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has issued a heartfelt appeal to the people of Edo State to extend the same level of cooperation and support they have given his administration to the incoming government of Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Obaseki made this emotional plea while speaking at a thanksgiving service and the dedication ceremony of the newly refurbished Government House Chapel.
In his address, the outgoing governor expressed his deep gratitude to the people of Edo for their unwavering support throughout his eight-year tenure, and emphasized the importance of continuity in the state’s progress.
Obaseki assured the congregation that even as he exits the office, he is not leaving Edo State behind, and that he remains committed to the state’s development. He urged the people to continue working together with the incoming administration to ensure the state’s continued growth and prosperity.
Obaseki’s tenure is set to conclude, making way for Okpebholo, who will soon take office. The governor-elect will benefit from the same support and cooperation that Obaseki’s administration received during its tenure, he encouraged the congregation to extend.
During the service, Obaseki also used the opportunity to dedicate the newly refurbished Government House Chapel, stating that it would serve as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the Edo people and the good things that would be accomplished in the state.
