Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Denounces PDP Candidate’s Claim of Receiving N1.2 Billion as Security Votes
During the governorship debate organized by Channels Television and its partners, Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, strongly denied the claim made by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, that he receives N1.2 billion as security votes for the state.
Aiyedatiwa characterised the claim as a blatant lie from the pit of hell and an attempt to play politics with the truth. He emphasized that all government expenditures, including security votes, are carefully budgeted and publicly available, and that the details of the Ondo State budget can be easily accessed online.
The Governor urged the PDP candidate to gather accurate information and stop misleading the public. “The budget is publicly available, and anyone can see the appropriation for security votes and other expenditures. It’s unfortunate that our opponent would resort to spreading false information to gain an advantage,” Aiyedatiwa said.
Aiyedatiwa also used the opportunity to address the issue of security in Ondo State. He stated that the state remains one of the safest in the country and that the people of Ondo feel more secure than ever due to the state’s proactive approach to security. He highlighted the successful initiative that led to the creation of the state’s homegrown security network, Amotekun, as a testament to the state’s commitment to providing effective security measures.
