Nigerian Skit Maker Josh2funny: The Content-Creating Industry is Booming, Making a Fortune for Creators
Naijawebinfo recently had the opportunity to sit down with the rising star, Chibuike Josh Alfred, popularly known as Josh2funny, and discuss the state of the content-creating industry.
In his conversation with the ‘Echo Room’ podcast, Josh2funny made it clear that the industry is not only growing but also incredibly lucrative. He believes that content creators can easily afford four Lamborghinis, simply because people consume their content daily.
“Think about it,” he said. “People are consuming our content all the time. When they’re in the bathroom, when they’re struggling to wake up in the morning – they’re still consuming our stuff. It’s like a constant stream of revenue.”
He emphasized that businesses that people consume on a daily basis, like the content-creating industry, rake in the profits. “It’s like pure gold,” he said, adding that people are constantly consuming and engaging with content on their phones, even while performing daily tasks like using the bathroom.
In related news, Josh2funny recently opened up about why many Nigerians don’t watch his comedy content. In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, he revealed that it’s because his humor is quite complex and requires a high level of intellectual understanding.
According to Josh2funny, “One thing about my jokes is that it takes a very high level of intellect to relate to them. That’s why I don’t have a lot of Nigerian fans. I’m dry, and my humor is dry humor, which is the most difficult to appreciate. It’s real, and it’s in-your-face humor, so people often don’t get it.”
He underscored the importance of understanding his target audience, stating that his humor is not for everyone. He is confident that his unique brand of humor will continue to attract a devoted following, even if it’s not for the masses.
