Ikorodu City’s caretaker coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, has expressed his team’s new determination to continue their winning streak after upsetting top-ranked Rivers United 2-0 at the Onikan stadium in Lagos. The impressive victory has given the team a significant boost in their quest to climb out of the relegation zone.
Despite Rivers United’s unbeaten record and Ikorodu City’s struggles with only five defeats under their belt, the hosts dominated the game from start to finish, ultimately securing their first home win of the season. The turnaround in form is attributed to Aweroro’s guidance, which has instilled a sense of unity and purpose among the players.
“We continue where we stop,” Aweroro emphasized. “The players have been performing exceptionally well, and I want to maintain that momentum.
