Nigerians’ Coping Mechanisms are a Curse, Says Nasboi

Economic Hardship: Coping Mechanism In Nigeria Is A Curse – Nasboi Laments

Nasboi Laments Nigeria’s Economic Hardship, Urges Critical Thinking in Upcoming Elections

Nigerian comedian and popular skitmaker, Nasboi, has taken to his social media handle to express his frustrations about the nation’s current economic woes. He believes that the widespread hardship should be a wake-up call for Nigerians to reevaluate the meaning of elections and think beyond tribal lines.

The comedian shared an update, saying that he now spends a whopping ₦96,000 to fuel his car, which only lasts for a week. He finds it puzzling that people could still manage to smile amidst such struggles.

Nasboi lamented that the coping mechanisms adopted by Nigerians to deal with hardship are, in themselves, a curse. Hequestioned how others are still able to find happiness despite the challenging situation, which seems to affect everyone equally.

In his post, Nasboi humorously quipped, “If another election is coming, let it be a tribal war. As you are Yoruba or Igbo or Hausa, go buy fuel for 200 naira, or enter the market and tell someone your tribe to make things cheap for you. Don’t you see how suffering doesn’t discriminate who to touch?”

He continued, “I spend ₦96,000 on fuel, and it runs out in less than a week… I’m baffled. I think the coping mechanism in Nigeria isn’t a blessing. It’s a curse! Because I wonder how we’re suffering and smiling.”
