Nigerian Celebrity, Bobrisky, Confirms Temporary Exit Amidst Legal Issues with Nigerian Security Agencies
In a recent post on his Instagram page, Bobrisky, a Nigerian crossdresser, revealed that he has temporarily left the country to prioritize his mental and physical well-being. The decision comes amidst ongoing legal issues with various Nigerian security agencies.
According to Bobrisky, the security agencies have been trying to hinder his plans, and he was even forced to purchase three business class tickets for flights, but only managed to use one. The celebrity accused the agencies of attempting to “frustrate” him, stating that he needed to attend to his “sanity and health.”
The latest development stems from Bobrisky’s previous arrest at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where he was taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) while attempting to board a flight to Amsterdam. The incident sent shockwaves online, with Bobrisky sharing an update about his treatment, stating, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
The underlying issue dates back to an allegation made by social media personality Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, claiming that Bobrisky had paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop previous money laundering charges. In response, the authorities took Bobrisky into custody and subjected him to questioning.
Sources close to the case reported that Bobrisy denied all allegations, challenging the authenticity of the compromising voice note and demanding evidence from the individual responsible. He was subsequently released on bail, but not before the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed his release, declining further details on the matter.
As the controversy unfolded, Bobrisky remains a source of division in the Nigerian entertainment scene, with many now waiting to see how this chapter unfolds for the embattled crossdresser.
