Bobrisky Escapes Controversy, Travelled Out of Nigeria
Naijawebinfo has reported that popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has left the country following a recent arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The arrest took place at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State, where Bobrisky was attempting to board a flight to Amsterdam.
The news of his arrest spread quickly, with Bobrisky sharing an update on his social media account, revealing that he had sustained injuries in the process. In a desperate plea for help, he asked his followers, “Nigerians, I need your help. I’ve been badly injured, and I can’t resolve this on my own.”
He was taken to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he faced questioning over allegations that he had bribed officials to drop money laundering charges from a previous case.
The allegations stem from a voice note shared by critic Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan. In the recording, Bobrisky supposedly confessed to paying N15 million to the EFCC to silence the charges. However, during his questioning, Bobrisky denied the claims, disputing the authenticity of the recording and demanding that the person responsible for sharing it come forward with evidence.
After completing the necessary procedures, Bobrisky was released on bail late Friday night. The EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the news to the Punch, declining to provide further details.
Following his release, Bobrisky took to social media to share a video of himself boarding an aircraft, captioning it, “See you soon, Nigeria.”
