Facing Ondo Guber: Ebiseni Slams Opponents Aiyedatiwa, Ajayi for Lack of Substance

November 16 Poll: LP Candidate, Ebiseni Mocks Aiyedatiwa, Ajayi, Says Both Have Noting To Offer Ondo

Labour Party’s Olusola Ebiseni Wades into Ondo Guber Poll, Lambasts Rivals

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s ‘Morning Brief’, Olusola Ebiseni, the Labour Party candidate for Ondo State governorship polls, chided his opponents, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Agboola Ajayi, calling them lacking in substance.

Aiyedatiwa was the erstwhile deputy governor under former governor Rotimi Akeredolu, while Ajayi also served as deputy governor from 2017 to 2021. Interestingly, Ajayi defected from the APC to the PDP in 2020, citing irreconcilable differences with Akeredolu, and Aiyedatiwa succeeded him as APC candidate.

Ebiseni emphasized the importance of evaluating candidates on their individual merits, rather than their party affiliations. He believes that his opponents lack the credentials to lead the state. “It’s not the crisis of any political party at their national level that will determine who will become governor in states. It’s the pedigree of the candidates and the performances of the political party when they were in power,” he stated.

Ebiseni went on to describe Ajayi, the PDP candidate, as the “so-called candidate” and contended that both Aiyedatiwa and Ajayi have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, as both were previously part of the APC government.

“I was surprised listening to both of them. They are members of the same family and have nothing to offer the people of Ondo State,” Ebiseni asserted.

Ebiseni, a familiar face in Ondo politics, has served as a three-time commissioner and delegate to the 2014 national conference, bringing his expertise and experience to the table as a strong contender for the governorship seat.
