Kano State’s top lawmaker clarifies reported feud between Governor and former Governor.

Kano Assembly Majority Leader Speaks On Alleged Rift Between Governor Yusuf And Kwankwaso

No Rift Between Kano Governor, Kwankwasiyya Leader, Says Assembly Majority Leader

The majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Husseini Dala, has refuted claims of a rift between Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Speaking to journalists at the State Assembly complex, Dala revealed that the rumors were mere fabrications spread by enemies of progress, both within and outside Kano State. He described these individuals as “adversaries of development” who seek to create discord in the state.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement, a significant force within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), played a crucial role in the political success of the governor, who remains closely aligned with Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s 2023 presidential candidate. Dala likened their relationship to that of a father and son, emphasizing their shared commitment to the state’s progress.

The majority leader also clarified that there is no conflict between the Kano State House of Assembly and Governor Yusuf, insisting that they work harmoniously together for the betterment of the state.

Dala warned that the individuals spreading these rumors would eventually regret their actions and fail to achieve their sinister goals. “Their plans will backfire, and they will be left with a sense of shame and regret,” he stated.

In response to calls for Governor Yusuf to distance himself from Kwankwaso’s influence, Dala emphasized that the governor is an independent-minded politician who governs the state based on his oath of office. He claimed that those pushing for a separation would be attempting to create a crisis in the state and urged the public to reject such divisive efforts.

Dala reiterated the unwavering loyalty of the governor and state assembly members to the NNPP and Senator Kwankwaso, stressing that together, they would continue to work towards the betterment of Kano State.
