Coach Augustine Eguavoen has announced a 22-man squad for the Super Eagles’ upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda. The team’s strongest players will take to the field, with Captain William Ekong, star winger Moses Simon, and reigning Africa Player of the Year Victor Osimhen leading the charge.
Joining them are goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoye, defenders Calvin Bassey, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Victor Collins, who makes his debut call-up. The midfield trio of Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi will provide creative impetus, while forwards Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Boniface, and Samuel Chukwueze will look to score crucial goals.
Sadiq Umar, who plays for Spanish side Real Sociedad, returns to bolster the team’s attacking options. Olaoluwa Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi complete the defense, alongside French-based defender Gabriel Osho, who is aiming to make his competitive debut after missing a previous call-up due to injury.
The Super Eagles will depart for Abidjan on November 11 to face Benin Republic at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny on November 14. They will then travel to Uyo for their final qualifying match against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on November 18.
With a strong chance of securing their place in the final tournament, the Super Eagles are poised to maintain their lead in Group D. Their impressive record, which includes seven goals scored and none conceded, thanks to the CAF Disciplinary Board’s decision to award them three points and three goals in the previous match against Libya, has given them an excellent foundation to build on.
With just a point needed to secure their place in the final tournament, the Super Eagles are well-positioned to achieve their goal. Here is the 22-man squad announced by Coach Augustine Eguavoen for the November international break:
