Teddy Sheringham Believes Cristiano Ronaldo Could Return to Manchester United Under New Manager Ruben Amorim

Former Manchester United striker, Teddy Sheringham, thinks Cristiano Ronaldo might just get a second chance to return to Old Trafford. Sheringham believes Ronaldo would be warmly welcomed back, especially given the appointment of fellow Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, who previously played with Ronaldo for Portugal.

Ronaldo’s initial high-profile return to United in 2021 was met with great fanfare, but it didn’t last long, with his time at the club cut short due to a publicized interview with Piers Morgan that ultimately led to his departure to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia’s top league. Since then, Ronaldo has excelled in the league, becoming the top scorer.

Despite the controversy surrounding his exit, Sheringham thinks Amorim’s return could pave the way for Ronaldo’s comeback. However, he also realizes that at 39, Ronaldo might choose to end his playing career elsewhere.

Ronaldo is not planning on becoming a coach, according to Sheringham. Instead, he might look to transition into a high-profile role, much like David Beckham.

“Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome in any capacity returning to the club, but I doubt he’ll be a coach,” Sheringham said.

Ronaldo has publicly expressed his reluctance towards coaching, citing his lack of enthusiasm for mentoring the younger generation. On his YouTube channel, UR, he revealed his concerns about young people equating smartphones with a quality education.

“It will be challenging for me to transition into coaching due to my insufficient passion for this demographic. They seem to disregard the wisdom of our experiences,” Ronaldo stated.

However, he’s more excited about exploring entrepreneurial ventures after retiring from professional football, seeing it as an opportunity to learn and excel in new areas.

“I have other things to worry about, another chapter of my life that is business-focused, and I’m excited about it. It will be a challenge for me to learn other areas I don’t know, to be more involved in my business, and I think I will be good at it,” he said.
